Peter Orner, editor of Underground America, is the author of the novel The Second Coming of Mavala Shikongo, a finalist for the Los Angeles Times Book Prize, and Esther Stories, a New York Times Notable Book and finalist for the Pen/Hemingway Award. He lives in San Francisco.
